I'll Be Home

We drove all night long through pouring rain
Every time I try to make up lost time I lose my way
I've been here so many times before it's hard to say

Now the tank is running low
She's pulling hard
But I'll be home in a little while

Well the curtain closed the lights went off we drove away
I guess they liked the show sometimes it's hard to say
But I miss you more & more with each passing day

Now the tank is running low
She's running hot
But I'll be home in a little while

Staring at the white lines as they slip on by
Dreaming up new day dreams just to pass the time
The way back home always seems like such a longer drive
I'll be home

I saw the two of you through the window when the lights came on
Your old boy friend's car parked out in the drive way
I couldn't believe my eyes so I just drove on by
Now the tank is running low
She's running hot
I wouldn't be home for a little while.
